HDC Group Donated 100 million KRW to Gangwon-do for Fire Damage Restoration

HDC Hyundai Development Company of HDC Group (Chairman Mong Gyu Chung) donated 100 million KRW to the Community Chest of Korea on Apr 17, 2019, for restoring forest fire damages in Gangwon-do and supporting victims of this fire. This area was declared as a special disaster area due to the recent Goseng forest fire.
 
The 100 million KRW was made by the company matching 50 million KRW collected from the cents of employee salary. Staffs and employees of HDC Hyundai Development Company have constructed a fund by donating cents in their monthly salaries since Jul 2015. It previously donated 50 million KRW to Yongsan Food Market in 2016, 50 million KRW to the Multicultural Family Support Center in 2016, and 82 million KRW to the Save the Children in 2017. The disaster relief fund will be used to restore the damaged area, provide relief goods to victims, and support living expenses for them.

 

A representative of HDC Hyundai Development Company said, "We donated to emphasize with victims’ pain and share their difficulties. We sincerely hope that the damaged area will be restored quickly so they can return to daily life as soon as possible” and “We hope that our donation made by a united effort of staffs and employees will be able to comfort the residents of this area who are suffering from this unexpected big fire.”

 

The HDC Group has contributed to the society in various ways such as the Itaewon mural painting activity, local housing renovation, gimjang volunteering, and free lunch program, which are parts of the HDC Love-Sharing Relay Program, in addition to the cents donation of HDC staffs and employees.
